Lampade di legno e amore - Lamps made with wood and love

 

ITA - Lo scorso novembre è iniziato un percorso artistico nuovo per il nostro laboratorio "ExPECTATION by Arianna Mora".

Realizzavo da tempo delle lampade artigianali in legno, ma questa svolta è partita dalla ricerca approfondita di pezzi particolari da usare come base per le nostre creazioni.

Non è facile reperire legni unici e ben sagomati che abbiano delle forme adatte a questa lavorazione.  

La ricerca della materia prima è solo il primo passo di questo percorso ed è sicuramente la sfida più grande. La fase successiva è la pulizia che prevede l'eliminazione delle parti non sane, l'eliminazione del terriccio per i legni trovati nei boschi e quella di sale e sabbia per i legni portati a riva dalle correnti.

Il legno viene poi nutrito e protetto con prodotti naturali secondo le nostre idee a favore della tutela dell'ambiente.

L'elettrificazione è sicuramente la fase più meccanica e semplice di tutto il processo, mentre il momento più stimolante è quello progettuale e decisionale.

Dove disporre il punto luce, come farlo arrivare, quali punti sono da illuminare e quali punti risaltano nella penombra. Quale tipo di lampadina usare. Quali colori e materiali scegliere. Dove posizionare l'interruttore. etc etc...

Vi mostro le immagini di alcuni lavori realizzati e la maggior parte di loro sono stati venduti presso il nostro concept store Oxtam, ma ne potete trovare ancora adesso e in futuro.

 

ENG - Last November our laboratory "Expectation by Arianna Mora" began a new artistic path.I was already making craft lamps in wood, but the turning point came from a thorough search of unique pieces of wood to use as a base.It is not very easy to find shaped wood that are suitable for this type of process.The search for raw material is only the first step and it is surely the biggest challenge. The next step is the cleaning that consists mainly in the elimination of unhealthy parts of the wood, the soil for the timbers found in the woods or salt and sand for the timbers brought ashore by the currents.The wood is then nourished and protected with natural products according to our ideas for the environmental protection.Electrification is the simplest and mechanic step of the whole process, while the most exciting moment is the planning and the decision-making.Where to place the light bulb, as it get, which points are to be full illuminated and which stand out in the gloom. What type of light bulb use. What colors and materials to choose. Where to place the switch and so on...
Here I show you pictures of some work already done and most of them were sold at our concept store Oxtam, but you can find something again now and in the future.

Una casa da Pinterest in poche mosse - A Pinterest home in a bit

ITA - Lo sapete come passano le ore a scrollare le immagini di Pinterest mentre si sprofonda negli abissi della tristezza per il proprio appartamento?! Ore...

Io ho fatto la mia ricerca e ho trovato questi modi super facili per trasformare un pochino i vostri appartamenti, per renderli tanto belli quanto quelli sulla bacheca di Pinterest.

E sono tutte cose che potete trovare da Oxtam.

ENG - You know how you can just spend hours scrolling your Pinterest feed, going deeper and deeper into a hole of feeling even worse about your flat? Hours...

So I’ve done the research for you and have come up with these super easy ways to transform bits of your flat, so it’s totally as good as what’s on Pinterest board.

ITA - Uno scaffale è molto importante non solo per lo stoccaggio, ma anche per la vista. Scegliti un posticino e passa un'ora a sbarazzarti di tutte le cose che non hai toccato per più di un anno. Ti sentirai molto meglio per aver gettato tutta quella roba inutile e aver tenuto solo quello che in realtà ti piace vedere e utilizzare.

Organizza per dimensione o colore, aggiungi cartoline e candele ed otterai il set fotografico pronto per Instagram.

ENG - Shelving is very important, not just for storage but for display, too. Choose a nook and spend an hour getting rid of all the things you haven’t touched for more than a year. You’ll feel so much better for getting rid of all that pointless stuff, and just keeping what you actually like to see and use.

Arrange by size or colour, add postcards and candles so you’ll get yourself a totally instagrammable setup.

ITA - Se hai un angolo che ha bisogno di un po' di verve rendilo un punto focale con uno sgabello di legno.Il look è molto carino ed è un'alternativa economica ad un tavolino.

ENG - If you’ve got a corner that needs a little love make it a focal point with a wooden stool. Not only does it look super cute but is a cheap alternative to a side table.

ITA - Immagino tu abbia tante cartoline, foto di famiglia e poster in giro. Allora ti consiglio qualcosa di nuovo... un decoro da parete. Questo è di Bloomingville.

ENG - I’m guessing you’ve definitely got a pile of gallery postcards, family photos and posters hanging. So I suggest you something new... a wall decor! This is from Bloomingville.

ITA - Ed infine l'ultimo consiglio. Una lampada molto semplice come questa. E' adorabile.

Amo progettare il legno anche quando mi fa traballare - I love to design wood even when it makes me shake

ITA - Alcuni di voi forse sanno che diversi anni prima di aprire il concept store "Oxtam", disegnavo e realizzavo mobili "su misura". (Io spero di poter definire il mio lavoro qualcosa in più di semplici mobili su misura, ma preferisco che siano gli altri a dirlo)

Non è stato facile per tanti motivi e il primo tra tutti è stata la mancanza di sostegno da parte di chi me lo aspettavo. Poi c'è stata la diffidenza perché sono giovane e donna. Poi la diffidenza perché non avevo le persone "giuste" a presentare il mio lavoro.

Ma alla fine io oggi faccio ciò che amo, i sogni si possono avverare, la via non è mai semplice, si deve iniziare dal basso e salire la scala... E anche allora il tutto può essere un po' traballante, ma lottare ne vale la pena.

ENG - Some of you may know that several years before the opening of my concept store "Oxtam", I drew and made "bespoke" furniture. (I hope I can define my work something more than simple custom furniture, but I prefer to let others define it)

It was not easy for so many reasons and the first of all was the lack of support from those who I expected. Then there was the distrust as a young women. Then the distrust because I was not introduced by the "right" person.

By the way, now I do what I love, dreams can come true, there is no easy way, you have to start at the bottom and clim the ladder... And even then it can be a bit shaky, but fight is worth it.

Il colore dell'anno 2017 - The color of the year 2017

ITA - Devo ammetterlo. Amo le pareti dipinte con un colore profondo, scuro e stravagante. Da questa premessa e dall'annuncio di Benjamin Moore per "Shadow" come colore dell'anno immagino che sarò presto ispirata dalle vibrazioni stravaganti e misteriose di blu, neri, magenta scuri e ametista. Tutte le sfumature più scure dei materiali preziosi. Un esempio perfetto è il divano di Bloomingville nella foto che potete ordinare in negozio.

Nel 2017 il trend saranno i colori lussuosi e ricchi abbinati con velluti, trapunte, strati e tante piante verdi. Anche se in effetti le piante si abbinano ad ogni decoro e stile.

Ad ogni modo io sono pronta per qualche proposta da farvi in negozio "Oxtam" e forse questo vi stupisce perchè lo stile dei miei mobili, per la maggior parte in legno e ferro, sembra impossibile da abbinare alla moda del 2017... ma non è impossibile!!!

Anzi, è solo una sfida molto interessante. Volete qualche anticipazione? Ecco qualche spunto preso dal web.

ENG - I have to tell you... I love painting walls deep, dark and moody. From this premise and with Benjamin Moore's announcement of "Shadow" as the color of the year, I can immagine myself inspired by the moody and mysterious vibes of blues, blacks, deep magentas and amethyst very soon. All the darkest shades of beautiful jewel tones. A perfect example is the Bloomingville's couch in the picture at the top that we have.

In 2017 luxurious and rich colors will be trending combined with velvets, tufted pieces, layers and lots of greenery. Even if actualy plants go with any decor and any style.

Anyway I am  prepared for some ideas for you at the store "Oxtam" and perhaps this will wonder you a bit because the style of my furniture, mostly made of wood and iron, seems impossible to combine with the 2017's trend... but it's not impossibile!!!

Home decor - step by step

ITA -  La casa fa parte di noi. Vive con noi. Cresce. Si evolve. Ci segue attraverso ogni piccolo passo, cambiamento ed evoluzione.

Ecco perché sono fermamente convinta che il lavoro di un arredatore non sia mai completo, non sia mai realmente ultimato.

I luoghi del nostro vivere infondo sono come specchi e, in qualche modo, sono anch'essi vivi.

Questo è il motivo che mi spinge ad entrare in sintonia con un cliente, capire la direzione in cui sta volgendo la sua vita e progettare delle soluzioni che possano aiutarlo a soddisfare le nuove esigenze. Ogni singolo passo affrontato insieme e con attenzione.

La parte più difficile di questo lavoro probabilmente non è avere delle buone competenze tecniche o buon gusto, ma saper ascoltare e cogliere i reali bisogni delle persone per poterle aiutare a ritrovare sé stessi negli spazi progettati.

La parte più stimolante di questo lavoro è trovare un dettaglio che sia affine solo ad un cliente. L'unicità di un prodotto che sia il riflesso dell'unicità della persona.

Oggi, nelle tre immagini in alto, ho messo il work in progress di una stanza per gli ospiti. La proprietaria di questo alloggio ha rivoluzionato alcuni aspetti della sua vita e, grazie alla tecnologia, ora svolge il suo lavoro da casa. Insieme abbiamo trasformato quella stanza degli ospiti nel suo nuovo ufficio.

Insieme abbiamo abbinato alcuni arredi che possedeva ad altri elementi di design (ovviamente scandinavian design) e abbiamo aggiunto una panca realizzata, nel laboratorio ExPECTATION BY ARIANNA MORA, su misura con una tavola di legno massiccio e una semplice struttura in ferro  .

The uniqueness of a product has to be a reflection of the uniqueness of a person.

Today, in the three images at the top, I show the work in progress of a guest room. The owner of this place has changed some aspects of her life and, thanks to technology, now she carries out her work from home. Together we have transformed the guest room in a new office.Together we have combined some furniture she already owned with other design elements (of course scandinavian design) and added a bespoke bench made, in the laboratory Expectation BY ARIANNA MORA, with a solid wood table and a simple iron structure.You like it?

Sono io, Arianna... e qualcuno forse mi conosce come l'ideatrice di "Expectation by Arianna Mora" un laboratorio di progettazione di mobili personalizzati e di "Oxtam" un concept store dove progetto interni e propongo arredi, complementi d'arredo artigianali e prodotti industriali di stile nordico a Bergamo.
Eccomi qui...
Ma tutto questo è solo la fermata in cui mi trovo ora durante il mio costante viaggio.

Da sempre sono circondata dal legno di ogni forma e dimensione, sono infatti cresciuta giocando con i ritagli di segheria sotto una pianta di ciliegio nell'azienda di famiglia che commercia legname dall'800. Credo che la passione per l'arte scorra nelle vene di tutta la mia famiglia grazie al bisnonno Accademico di Spagna o, per lo meno, mi fa piacere immaginare che sia così.
Ho frequentato la Facoltà di Architettura ed Ingegneria Edile dell'Università di Pavia anche se, in realtà, non ho un carattere dalle idee risolute tipico di un ingegnere.
Sono piuttosto... curiosa, sempre alla ricerca di un nuovo progetto, alla ricerca di qualcosa di innovativo e mischio le mie passioni per poi interrogarmi verso quali scoperte mi hanno portata.
Senza ombra di dubbio, la mia passione più grande è realizzare ambienti dove poter immaginare le persone serene, trascorrere la loro vita nei momenti di routine e nei giorni più speciali. Per me è importante conoscere ogni cliente, capire i suoi bisogni e avere una vasta rete di possibilità da cui attingere per aiutarlo a creare un luogo adatto a sé. Credo fortemente nell'unicità di gni essere umano e quindi nell'unicità delle sue esigenze.
Questo è ciò che mi spinge a cercare sempre nuove risorse, nuovi artigiani, nuovi materiali... Per progettare ambienti con le caratteristiche più affini alle persone che li abiteranno. Per soddisfare la qualità delle loro vite.

Inizia oggi questo blog, dove non ci saranno solo consigli e idee per le vostre case o i vostri uffici... Ci saranno anche i miei pensieri, le altre mie passioni e voi siete tutti i benvenuti.
