Lampade di legno e amore - Lamps made with wood and love

 

ITA - Lo scorso novembre è iniziato un percorso artistico nuovo per il nostro laboratorio "ExPECTATION by Arianna Mora".

Realizzavo da tempo delle lampade artigianali in legno, ma questa svolta è partita dalla ricerca approfondita di pezzi particolari da usare come base per le nostre creazioni.

Non è facile reperire legni unici e ben sagomati che abbiano delle forme adatte a questa lavorazione.  

La ricerca della materia prima è solo il primo passo di questo percorso ed è sicuramente la sfida più grande. La fase successiva è la pulizia che prevede l'eliminazione delle parti non sane, l'eliminazione del terriccio per i legni trovati nei boschi e quella di sale e sabbia per i legni portati a riva dalle correnti.

Il legno viene poi nutrito e protetto con prodotti naturali secondo le nostre idee a favore della tutela dell'ambiente.

L'elettrificazione è sicuramente la fase più meccanica e semplice di tutto il processo, mentre il momento più stimolante è quello progettuale e decisionale.

Dove disporre il punto luce, come farlo arrivare, quali punti sono da illuminare e quali punti risaltano nella penombra. Quale tipo di lampadina usare. Quali colori e materiali scegliere. Dove posizionare l'interruttore. etc etc...

Vi mostro le immagini di alcuni lavori realizzati e la maggior parte di loro sono stati venduti presso il nostro concept store Oxtam, ma ne potete trovare ancora adesso e in futuro.

 

ENG - Last November our laboratory "Expectation by Arianna Mora" began a new artistic path.I was already making craft lamps in wood, but the turning point came from a thorough search of unique pieces of wood to use as a base.It is not very easy to find shaped wood that are suitable for this type of process.The search for raw material is only the first step and it is surely the biggest challenge. The next step is the cleaning that consists mainly in the elimination of unhealthy parts of the wood, the soil for the timbers found in the woods or salt and sand for the timbers brought ashore by the currents.The wood is then nourished and protected with natural products according to our ideas for the environmental protection.Electrification is the simplest and mechanic step of the whole process, while the most exciting moment is the planning and the decision-making.Where to place the light bulb, as it get, which points are to be full illuminated and which stand out in the gloom. What type of light bulb use. What colors and materials to choose. Where to place the switch and so on...
Here I show you pictures of some work already done and most of them were sold at our concept store Oxtam, but you can find something again now and in the future.

La camera per la creatività dei bambini - Kid's craft room

 

ITA - Se leggete questo blog siete sicuramente delle persone creative  e ci sono delle buone probabilità che lo siano anche i vostri figli. Per i bambini la creativa è meravigliosa, ma porta anche tanto scompiglio nelle case e quindi bisogna organizzarsi. 

I materiali come le matite colorate, la colla e i glitter sono cose che vorremmo fuori dal raggio visivo, ma non fuori dalla portata di mano. Per questo, ci sono delle soluzioni carine come un contenitore a ripiani con tanti cubi vuoti che voi potete riempire con dei cassetti in tessuto o delle ceste facili da estrarre e riposizionare.
Allo store "Oxtam" vi possiamo anche proporre una versione a forma di casina che io trovo adorabile, soprattutto per una femminuccia.
ENG - If you read this blog you surely are creative people and there're good chances that even your children are. The creativity for children is wonderful, but it brings a lot off mess in the house too, so you need to get organized.
Materials as colored pencils, glue and glitters are things that should remain out of sight, but not out reach. So, there are lovely solutions as a storage cubby with organizers like fabric drawers that make evereything easy to place in and pull out. You can make those drawers by yourselves or you can buy suitable baskets.
 

 

ITA - Un'idea divertente è trasformare un elemento di ricovero in un elemento espositivo come una mensola dalla doppia funzione. Infatti al di sopra della mensola si possono posizionare pennelli, colori e carte, mentre nella parte sotto c'è una barra magnetica dove potete appendere i disegni dei vostri bambini con delle calamite. Il risultato sarà di un piccolo atelier.

ENG - A good idea is to transform a shelter element in a display element such as a bar double-duty display shelf. Above you can place brushes, colors and papers, while at the bottom you can apply a magnetic bar to hang children's drawings with magnets. The result will be a small atelier.

 

ITA - Tra le soluzioni possibili per sviluppare la creatività dei bambini c'è un vero e proprio tavolo da lavoro. Un mobile con i cassetti pronti per essere attrezzati con tutto ciò che serve: scatole di pastelli, scotch, nastri etc e a lato un rotolo di carta da cui si può srotolare ogni volta un foglio per disegnare e colorare.

ENG - Among the solutions to develop children's creativity there's a real work table. A furniture with drawers ready to be equipped with everything needed: boxes of crayons, scotch, ribbons etc and beside a roll of paper from which you can roll out a piece to draw and color.
 

ITA - E se avete un futuro artista in casa non potete fargli mancare un cavalletto. Ogni piccolo artista  non può resiste dal liberare la sua fervida immaginazione davanti ad una lavagna pulita. Potete anche optare per il dipingere una parete della sua cameretta con un prodotto che trasforma l'intonaco in una lavagna. Non è nulla di complicato, vi basta solo comprare un barattolo di pittura speciale e recuperare il rullo da pittura che avete lasciato in qualche scatolone nel ripostiglio.

ENG - And if you have a future artist in your house, you can't help him but get a tripod. Every little artist can not resist from let his imagination fly in front of a clean blackboard. An other suggestion is to paint a wall of his room with a product that turns your plaster in a blackboard. It's nothing complicated, you just need to buy a jar of a specific painting and recover a paint roller you maybe have left in a boxe in the closet.
 

 

ITA - Ormai è chiaro che ho dedicato questo articolo ai piccoli di casa, ma ho pensato anche ai genitori che, dopo il divertimento, corrono ai ripari con spugne e solventi. Il mio consiglio più semplice è di procurarsi un tappeto per proteggere il pavimento da graffi, cadute e colori. Ma non compratene uno qualsiasi, c'è un piccolo trucco. Innanzitutto scegliete un tappeto apposta per le camerette dei bambini perché sono meno costosi, ma soprattutto optate per la fantasia giusta. Se ne scegliete una come quella in fotografia avrete delle buone probabilità che gli schizzi di colore lo trasformino in un vero capolavoro piuttosto che in un arredo rovinato. 

ENG - By now it's clear that I have dedicated this article to children, but I thought about the parents too that, after the fun fase, have to tidy everything up with sponges and solvents. My simple advice is to get a rug to protect the floor from scratches and colors. But not anyone because there is a little dodge . First choose a rug for children's bedrooms whitch is cheaper, but most important opt for a smat fantasy. If you choose somthing like the one in the photograph you will have a good chance to turn it into a masterpice, with the splashes of color, rather than in a ruined home decor.

 

ITA - E l'ultimo consiglio lo lascio per il momento di relax dopo tante energie consumate nel creare, magari per un intero fine settimana (lo so, lo so... alcuni bimbi sembrano essere inarrestabili...). Prima o poi arriva il momento di mettersi comodi e contemplare il lavoro fatto. E, secondo me, non c'è niente di meglio che sdraiarsi in un sacchetto come quello della foto e godersi il meritato riposo.

ENG - And I leave the last tip for the relaxing moment after spending so much energy in creativity, perhaps for a whole weekend (I know, I know... some children seem to be unstoppable...) Sooner or later it comes time to get comfortable and contemplate the work done. And, in my opinion, there is nothing better than to lie down in a bag like the one in the photo and enjoy a well earned rest.
