Concrete coffee table

ENG - By now it's clear that wood is our preferred material!!! I grew up among the piles of timber and, like me, all the members of my family since the 1800s, but the wood is not always the solution in an interior design project.
We are growing and improving with your support, we are learning to use other materials such as metals, cements and resins! A massive thank you to those who gave us such beautiful occasions and to those who share with us these projects!

Lampade di legno e amore - Lamps made with wood and love

ENG - Last November our laboratory "Expectation by Arianna Mora" began a new artistic path.I was already making craft lamps in wood, but the turning point came from a thorough search of unique pieces of wood to use as a base.It is not very easy to find shaped wood that are suitable for this type of process. The search for raw material is only the first step and it is surely the biggest challenge. The next step is the cleaning that consists mainly in the elimination of unhealthy parts of the wood, the soil for the timbers found in the woods or salt and sand for the timbers brought ashore by the currents. The wood is then nourished and protected with natural products according to our ideas for the environmental protection.Electrification is the simplest and mechanic step of the whole process, while the most exciting moment is the planning and the decision-making.Where to place the light bulb, as it get, which points are to be full illuminated and which stand out in the gloom. What type of light bulb use. What colors and materials to choose. Where to place the switch and so on...
Here I show you pictures of some work already done and most of them were sold at our concept store Oxtam, but you can find something again now and in the future.

ENG - You know how you can just spend hours scrolling your Pinterest feed, going deeper and deeper into a hole of feeling even worse about your flat? Hours...
So I’ve done the research for you and have come up with these super easy ways to transform bits of your flat, so it’s totally as good as what’s on Pinterest board.

ENG - Shelving is very important, not just for storage but for display, too. Choose a nook and spend an hour getting rid of all the things you haven’t touched for more than a year. You’ll feel so much better for getting rid of all that pointless stuff, and just keeping what you actually like to see and use.
Arrange by size or colour, add postcards and candles so you’ll get yourself a totally instagrammable setup.

ENG - If you’ve got a corner that needs a little love make it a focal point with a wooden stool. Not only does it look super cute but is a cheap alternative to a side table.

ENG - I’m guessing you’ve definitely got a pile of gallery postcards, family photos and posters hanging. So I suggest you something new... a wall decor! This is from Bloomingville.

ITA - Ed infine l'ultimo consiglio. Una lampada molto semplice come questa. E' adorabile.
ENG - And last tip. An easy lamp like this. It's lovely.

Lettino a casina per bambini - Little house bed for babies

ENG - "Putting to bed a two year old child who is not tired it is like putting to bed your best friend after a booze after her boyfriend left her."These words are the literal quote of a friend who come into the store last month to ask me a bed for her baby.
Since there is "Oxtam" this is the second bed that I make with wood slats raised from the ground, but a few centimeters.
This type of bed helps children to acquire, step by step, a little bit of security and independence because they can get on and off by themselves, without any risk of falling. (There are many thoughts about the educational development of children and I do not argue any, I just speak of interior design).
In all the many customizations, you can easily see on social like Pinterest or Instagram, one that is really successful is the one with a little house structure. I love it too, but the thing that I really loved was to make these for two mothers-friends!!!
Do you like it?

Il colore dell'anno 2017 - The color of the year 2017

Volete qualche anticipazione? Ecco qualche spunto preso dal web.
ENG - I have to tell you... I love painting walls deep, dark and moody. From this premise and with Benjamin Moore's announcement of "Shadow" as the color of the year, I can immagine myself inspired by the moody and mysterious vibes of blues, blacks, deep magentas and amethyst very soon. All the darkest shades of beautiful jewel tones. A perfect example is the Bloomingville's couch in the picture at the top that we have.
In 2017 luxurious and rich colors will be trending combined with velvets, tufted pieces, layers and lots of greenery. Even if actualy plants go with any decor and any style.
Anyway I am  prepared for some ideas for you at the store "Oxtam" and perhaps this will wonder you a bit because the style of my furniture, mostly made of wood and iron, seems impossible to combine with the 2017's trend... but it's not impossibile!!!
In fact, it's just a very interesting challenge. Do you want a preview? Here are some ideas taken from the web.

ENG - If you read this blog you surely are creative people and there're good chances that even your children are. The creativity for children is wonderful, but it brings a lot off mess in the house too, so you need to get organized.
Materials as colored pencils, glue and glitters are things that should remain out of sight, but not out reach. So, there are lovely solutions as a storage cubby with organizers like fabric drawers that make evereything easy to place in and pull out. You can make those drawers by yourselves or you can buy suitable baskets.

ENG - A good idea is to transform a shelter element in a display element such as a bar double-duty display shelf. Above you can place brushes, colors and papers, while at the bottom you can apply a magnetic bar to hang children's drawings with magnets. The result will be a small atelier.

ENG - Among the solutions to develop children's creativity there's a real work table. A furniture with drawers ready to be equipped with everything needed: boxes of crayons, scotch, ribbons etc and beside a roll of paper from which you can roll out a piece to draw and color.

ENG - And if you have a future artist in your house, you can't help him but get a tripod. Every little artist can not resist from let his imagination fly in front of a clean blackboard. An other suggestion is to paint a wall of his room with a product that turns your plaster in a blackboard. It's nothing complicated, you just need to buy a jar of a specific painting and recover a paint roller you maybe have left in a boxe in the closet.

ENG - By now it's clear that I have dedicated this article to children, but I thought about the parents too that, after the fun fase, have to tidy everything up with sponges and solvents. My simple advice is to get a rug to protect the floor from scratches and colors. But not anyone because there is a little dodge . First choose a rug for children's bedrooms whitch is cheaper, but most important opt for a smat fantasy. If you choose somthing like the one in the photograph you will have a good chance to turn it into a masterpice, with the splashes of color, rather than in a ruined home decor.

ENG - And I leave the last tip for the relaxing moment after spending so much energy in creativity, perhaps for a whole weekend (I know, I know... some children seem to be unstoppable...) Sooner or later it comes time to get comfortable and contemplate the work done. And, in my opinion, there is nothing better than to lie down in a bag like the one in the photo and enjoy a well earned rest.
